According to Trusted Reviews, the current Surface Pro 4 battery life drops with demanding tasks like streaming videos on Netflix as compared to other Android tablets. The new generation of Surface Pro is believed to come packed with an improved battery life placing it at par with Apple’s iPad Pro, as reported by Inquisitr.Currently, the Surface Pro 4 accompanies a Type Cover with fingerprint sensor, which has to be purchased separately. According to the BitBag, with the Surface Pro 5, Microsoft may incorporate the fingerprint scanner onboard. The Surface Pro 4 features a 12.3-inch display with a screen resolution of 2736×1824 pixels. Prevailing rumours indicate that Microsoft will introduce 4K display resolution with the new Surface Pro 5.

If we had to complain about one thing when it comes to Apple's laptops, we'd gripe about battery life. And that's especially true if you own an older MacBook Pro. Simply run the Chrome browser on your machine for a couple hours, and before you know it, you'll be hastily scrounging around and looking for a place to plug in and charge. It's annoying. You know this, and we know this, and apparently, Apple has taken notice of the issue as well. As noted by Sky News, Apple has recently submitted a patent application for a new fuel cell system. This power system could keep its devices charged for "days or even weeks" at a time. The application detailed a "portable and cost-effective fuel cell system for a portable computing device" and indicated MacBooks would get the tech first. The system uses different fuel and energy sources to provide power. The application, for instance, listed sources like sodium borohydride and water, sodium silicate and water, lithium hydride and water, magnesium hydride and water, lithium borohydride and water, lithium aluminum hydride and water, aluminum hydride, and more. According to the application, the actual power cartridge would run out and need to be replaced instead of re-charged. Keep in mind most patents never come to fruition, but nonetheless, it's still interesting to see that Apple is at least considering new and unique ways of improving device battery life.

Apple appears to be finally improving the battery life of its products which could see devices lasting for days - or even WEEKS.The tech company is set to trial a new 'fuel cell system' to replace the old batteries found in its Macbooks, but the innovative new technology could be used in its range of phones and watches. Not only could the new batteries last for weeks - they will also be more environmentally friendly and compact. The fuel cell system was awarded by the US Patent Office and works by converting fuel to electrical power.Although the cell system seems to have been specifically designed for laptops, the tech can be made smaller making it suitable for iPhones, the Daily Mail reports.

The news follows reports last week that that Amazon is working to create a new Kindle which wouldn't need charging for two years. It's unlikely Apple's latest technology will feature in its new iPhone 6S, however. We reported last week how Apple is heavily rumoured to reveal the new phone in under a week's time. The invitations have been sent out and the internet rumourmill has gone into overdrive. There's a big event happening on Wednesday, September 9, and although Apple hasn't revealed specifically when it's taking place, seasoned tech experts believe it will take place at 10am in San Francisco. As in previous years, we expect Apple to reveal two versions of the new iPhone at the same time.
